Marantz cd6000 ose cd-r read problem

My Marantz cd6000 ose has started not to play CD-R's - no, it plays them but just from start to finish - if I try to fast forward through the tracks, either from the remote of facia it crashes. I have cleaned the lens with no affect - anyone got any ideas?

 

Slippery slope I'm affraid...it could be the start of the decline and fall of your laser....IMO

 

The good news is that the VAM1201 fits as a drop-in replacement for the CDM12.1, and it's cheap - about £16 from Grandata or Dalbani.

 

Felix - Thanks for the pointer - I cant find it in the Grandata site but can on the Dalbani - it is £30, is this the right one ?

When I last ordered here they actually sent the VAM1201 which is the updated replacement, and works just fine.
