Thanks to Iassc, for this one, seems Wm's fave speaker maker has launced a new speaker 'Night Hawk', in the mid point sector, using Vifia drivers this time, and a little larger than average port shape.
Build quality is the usual top notch cabinet makers standard, we've come to expect from this manufacturer, beautiful craftsmanship, nothing less. Wm

    what beautiful cabinetry. Mmmmmmmm nice.

Would look even nicer on a Les Paul though..

Suprising they are still using conventional tweeter/mid at $6.5k?

Yes - noticed this a week or two ago. Had been wondering where they'd got to with the replacement for my Heron-i (which is basically what this is). Looks like they've changed the mid and tweet, but kept the same woofers (or maybe a later version of the same). Size is a tad taller  , narrower and deeper. Still not sure I like those kobbly features on the front baffle though. Interesting that they've really gone to town on the front TL port for this one - maybe the bassfreak WM should have gone for this one instead of its big brother!

And the difference between McGinty's speakers and N*** is that these make music :p :p You do have a point though in that I never listened to the first pair of Shearwaters I saw because I thought they were those abortions called Allaes!

You guys are safe :meister: the blue heron 2's are going into a new Venue, somehow I feel my Neigbours won't appriecate my choice in class woodwork :)
The night hawks do look rather good though  Wm

However thankfully, these have nothing else in common with naim speakers :)
Now Graham, I feel tis a trifle unfair, trying to pass me off as a bass freak :D , when you mention that if you can't hear the plucked double bass hit it's bottom octive, whilst re-arranging next doors spare room decor :p in the middle of a Quiet mahlar passage ? Unless you can recreate the scale of mount everest, with the 'realistic' :D output levels of some crummy old concert hall where you need at least 115DB just to hear the 'in house' mouse fart wildly, whilst purched on the string section leaders shoulder, then is mere a case of Pot/Kettle/Black, may I remind you sir, you expoilts with the volume knob are stuff of legends, with sound engineers, fleeing in all directions clutching their cans:eek: :) Wm

Infamy, infamy...they've all got it.....(ah...you can't beat a bit of camp '60s British comedy)

I'll have you know (not now so) young man....tonight I've been listening to some cerebral harpsichord, even more cerebral late Beethoven string sounds, and finally some quite divine a capella choral polyphony. How're your slippers warming?

Hmmm, nice cabinetry but do they play any music or is it a case of all show and no go? ;)

    Enjoy the music,
