    Hi Guys,

Is the meridian 203 DAC easily modified or is it all surface mount stuff? has anyone any ideas or recommendations?

Do you think that meridian would send me a service manual?

    Thanks

    Darren

Darren I would suggest phoning Trichord & speaking to Graham Fowler, he's had a some experiance with Meridain equipment :) TBH I find SMT easier to work with  Wm

I stuck a Trichord digital output board into my old Marantz CD50SE and that was all SMD stuff (even though it's from 1990) and it wasn't really a problem to fiddle with those surface mount components. Need a small soldering iron bit and a magnifying lamp/glass can come in handy too :)

I'd certainly recommend a new mains cable for one.

Never played with the innards on the 203 I owned, but changed out to an Audusa 05/04 cable, which in my opinion, made a big improvement to the sound.
