It was lovely in mid to late March it even went above 20c in Manchester at one point, today it must have been at 6c at one point my hands were freezing cold. I suppose its still only arpil. I just hate bad weather it gets me down.

You wanna try living in the North East. It has not got anywhere near 20c at any time so far this year. That being said, the weather is pretty mild up here at the minute.

The thing about Manchester is its not the temperatures, the city centre can often be on par with devon and cornwall but never matches the South East espeicaly London which seems to be the hottest place in Britian (the South West being the sunnyiest) but its the dull weahter.

If its not raining its always cloudy its actually getting quite rare for the sun to come out these days. I think the UK has probably experienced this as a whole though.

Inner cities are always a few degrees above the surrounding area.

The sun comes out every day in Manchester, mate. It's just that the clouds come with it too :D

I hope it's gonna be warm - but where I live it's always windy!

Forecasts for more than a week or so ahead are notoriously unreliable.

Anyway, I though Glasto afficionados preferred it wet 'n muddy?

We always forget how bloody awful April and May generally are. Look how many garden centres are selling bedding plants and, even dafter, how many people are buying them. One frost away from losing the lot.

I think the weather of heared me its not exactly baking hot but its about 15-16c and its sunny. Still a good 10c warmer than yesterday and the sun is out so it can't be bad.

Even those shorter-range forecasts are nowhere near ironclad :)

I've been to Glasto twice. 2003 was lovely, 2004 was awkward. Contact lenses and sighted guide both get REALLY NASTY when the mud comes. If it wasn't for that, I'd not mind. After all, even though I was standing in a few inches of mud to watch Paul McCartney, the event was awesome, for example. Certainly I had nothing to moan about when my mates had been at the carnage which was Glastonbury 1998!

I've never been, and it's too expensive to start now. The elder daughter is becoming a Reading regular, and scorns Glasto as 'middle class'. I don't know what class she thinks she's from ...

I think basically she just means that its lost its *magic*, by increasing the price of the tickets, and increasing the security, a lot of the hardcore of past years is not there any more. I went in 2000... apparently that was the year that they had twice as many people there as what should have been, and it sure was "interesting". :D

Hoping for another hot summer, but as for Glastonbury, it can be like 1998 again if it wants to. Won't spoil it for me!

As for the South West being the sunniest place... doesn't always seem like it when you live down here, if there's ever heatwaves it's always the South East that gets that good luck!

Mid 20s and deep blue sky here ATM. Should enjoy it while I can, because in a couple of months temperatures will be in the mid 30s and it will be typhoon season :D
