I've done some basic MOT tests (its due on the 11th of June) and when doing the emissions test at 2500rpm massive clouds of blue smoke where coming out the back. The car is burning oil quite badly.

This was the only major thing I could find though I have not been able to carry out the steering test.

How much is it going to cost to replace the piston rings and stem seals roughly if the labour is £30 an hour? Also if I am going to get that done is it worth getting my warn out camshaft replaced?

The car itself as been very very reliable in the past 1300 miles, its started first time, never stalled, always engaged gear first time etc.

Also been busy with work till this week (I hate holiday weeks). Also quite my part time job.

Reality is back though and I need to spent time in Manchester getting new customers.

My bank balance is not so lucky though:( The problem is with the state of the property makret there is no real incentive to save so I just spend all my money on holidays and on beer.

A laudable concept, as previously stated, but maybe a little something should be saved towards the purchase of reliable transport to replace the sorry heap you have at the moment.

yeah, the way that the property market is going - it surely can't sustain itself in the long term...I just rent a 200k house for 400 quid a month and enjoy myself... there's no way I could afford mto buy it!
