    Hi,

I have a Trivista DAC 21 which I used with a A3.2 cd player as a transport, until recently I have psu probs with the a3.2.

I got fed up bought a Nuvista 3D CD player. hooked it all up and yes it sounded good I also used it as a transport to the Trivista and even using different interconnects there is abosolutley no difference!!! WHY I really am surpirised!! I thought there may be at least a small differece but nothing, switch btween the sources was a matter of just pressing the source selector.

Amp used KW500 with KEF Ref 203.

    Any thoughts?

I suspect that the 3d and the Trivista use the same DAC.

Is it true that MF ,make exceptional demonstration and review samples then invoke their 'right to change specification' in their regular production models!

Hmmm... it is the first time i hear that.
I cannot vouch for it being false (or true for that matter) but I can tell you from experience that I have had several pieces of kit from MF over the years and they were always faultless and pretty good performing (to my ears anyway).

I never had a glitch with my old A3.2 integrated and I chose it over a number of auditioned integrated amps at the time.

Equally I now have a Nuvista M3 and I prefer it to the KW500 and to a number of auditioned amplifiers (not MF). Are all MF products good? probably not. Are they as good as they are hyped to be? Probably not either, but if you take them home, listen and compare with others it is your choice in the end. I love the M3 in my setup.

If they sounded bad, I wouldn't have bought them...
    :)

    cheers,
    Jack

    Hi,

Even if the two machines use the same DAC Trivista Valves and nuvista should sound different right? well I would have thought so.

I call MF to speak to the tech department (guy)to try and get some sort of explanation but he is already on holiday.

Yes, as they use different valves, but whether it will sound better it very much depends on your tastes. :)

the nu-vista cdp is and was an icom to the cd world, in more ways than one, i still have one , will never sll it although i also use the kw 25 dac and transport, kid you not they are super, the best perhaps..a few mods i done to the nu-vista 3d resulted on an amasement result, a very close sound to vynil and tireless sound, having said that i never liked the tri-vista sound "personal". nando.
