    They suffered the same fate within two minutes, no load, no signal. Replacing 9 transistors in the S300 output stage is an absolute pain and took around 6 hours of work, all of which was undone in a single pop. Can't be arsed anymore.

    You originally suspected a speaker cable short. Can you confirm the original diagnostic or could it be a fault in the unit itself ?

    I don't particularly want a change because I was very happy with the S300's sound.

    However, I have tried and failed to fix it. Getting it fixed would cost at least £200 I reckon in people's time and including shipping 30kg twice. That's simply not money I have.
