Brought it yesterday but not had a listen yet as The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid turned up via Amazon and I can't stop playing it.

It's on the iPod, I'll have a listen at work and let you know.

I've had a good listen and would recommend it to anyone who liked any of their previous stuff.

You cant help bouncing you head to a few tracks and reckon it wont be long till there used in the clubs.

Nothing that flies out at you tho as a classic. A good all-round album imo.

This was played during a small social gathering over here last night. Didn't hear it properly, but liked what I did.

    Heads were indeed bouncing.

Quite a few guests. Think I noticed Q-Tip and Tim Burgess. I'll have to borrow it and give it a decent listen.

Is it worth it to hear hese guys performing live? They're playing in Amsterdam at the end of February and tickets are still available.

This has had pretty poor reviews, and I've no other chemical brothers so I had no intention of buying it.

However I was mooching around Fopp the other day to a brilliant soundtrack of rock/dance/dub which on enquiring I discovered was Push the Button, So it's now definately on my maybe list. Other opinions welcome.

Note - I have been lulled into buying this type of thing occationally (which is outside my normal buying genre) and usually have been massively disapointed (Fat Boy Slim's first Album, Dr Dre - The Chronic, Attica Blues etc etc).

Greeny, you really should check out earlier chemical brothers music.

To my mind, they are one of the fore-runners in the dance genre.

Their back catalogue is very cheap at Amazon.

You could buy their singles collection. This encapsulates the band up to 2003.

Amazon are selling it at 6.99 plus p&p on their site, other people on the amazon site are selling it from 5.66.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...98/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl/202-3022235-9376623

If you prefer albums to greatest hits, try exit planet dust.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000024I6J/qid=1108129998/ref=pd_ka_1/202-3022235-9376623

Its worth checking out the 'used' section of the site too for real bargains IME.

Honestly, check those albums out. I'd be suprised if you are dissapointed.

    Chris.

New album isnt that great to my ears. As Bottleneck mentioned - get Exit Planet Dust - easily the best album. Or alternatively just get some Orbital instead :)

I'd give the singles album a miss and get exit planet dust, and dig your own hole too. They'd be the best place to start.

I got a few of the older chemical albums and have been meening to get some of the newer ones probably somthing I may do soon.

The other day I watched the video to galvernise and liked it which spured me to get the album and its rather good in short.

I'll agree with Mo though Exit Planet Dust is one of there better albums was the first Chemical brothers album i got infact such a long time ago it seems now.

I like the album , but I feel the recording quality is a little suspect, seems a tad harsh to me, any others think the same, agree with Ju that breaks no ground musically, listen to SPhongle/Halucinogen/Simon Posford for that.

just listening to new chemical brothers album 'we are the night'

I can reccomend it, definately one to look out for in the shops.

There is more vocal on there - reminds me of being a bit more daft punk, BT, depeche mode.

There are still a few stand-out dance bits that you know are going to be picked up by Citroen or someone and stuffed all over the tv..
