can you tell what is the major improovement compared to the trio's?

is it the better because of pointsource imaging ?

if there's an advantage of danleys than it must be that. i can't see any other, they can't be time aligned.

To be honest I am not so much for imaging. However I felt the imaging is more precise and more beliavable in case of the Danley. But I checked it only with those live recordings we made with a Korg MR-1000.

I always felt the tonality, rhythm and the dynamics are the most important for me. Even if the Danley SH 50 is less sensitive (100 dB against the 108 dB of the Trio), the dynamics seems more lively. Tonally the Trios are a bit brighter and put a very mild artificiality on the top of all played music (at least in my room and system, YMMV). The Danley is just playing everything without this and shows more tonal colors, more textures and better construction of the music and the rhythm

The biggest difference between the Trio and the SH 50 probably in the cohesiveness. The Danley just sound like one way speaker from top to bottom, plus has swing, punch in the bass and finesse, smoothness on the top, and no coloration of any kind in the middle which the Trio could not provide (note again: in my system).

i do not have so good experience with deep horn covering treble. in my system, it lacks spaceousness, which i guess is only possible with tweeter with wide angle polar pattern. i doubt the dh50 with its compression driver deep inside the horn can beat the trio's in this regard.

Surely you mean it doesn't add spaciousness by spraying treble around the room and increasing the strength of the reverberent field?

Actually I feel the treble better, more focused of the SH 50 than the Trio. it has a kind of dynamics, whihc the Trio lacks. Probably because it is more focused as the effect of the 50x50 pattern.

sorry i have no idea - and these are not mine (yet:)) - the stands come as a part of the speakers, you can't get them separately.

Yes they are Gordan. Yours. Including stands. Which does not only allowe for swinging the cab for multiple purposes of choosing for listening heights and prefereble toe in/out and sweet spot adjustments, but further contains an adjustable line filter for the bass and an amp to run them.

They have just not yet moved to your place. :sheep:

If a stand for a shape like this should fit any other speaker. Then customize it to the exact speaker they should fit to.

you're right murray, i checked the OP.

anyway - back to the swings - could be i haven't seen many of the speakers however i yet have to see the design that is easier to tune to the listener and to the room. swinging them left and right you easily hit adjust the height to your ear plus you can find an optimal position to prevent an interference of room nodes and unwanted effects.

on the top they really look so brilliant that i hope that the manufacturer has secured a copyright on the whole concept. compared to them avantgardes looks fully plastic, a cherry wood finish of the body gives a nice human touch. i wouldn't be surprised to see them in the copenhagen museum of modern design one day. even if they wouldn't sound so good, it's just enough to look at them and to get a smile all over your face.

Sorry I didn't make it clear in my earlier post - I was actually asking about the equipment rack you are using.

Oh boy..... now I see it..hahaha

That is not Gordans equip. stand, it's mine.

Think most understood it were a question about the speaker stands...:D

However I really cannot recall what brand it is. It's 10 years old and not in production anymore.
