Soon I will be recieving an amp that I bought off E-bay.
A Rotel RC-970 BX pre amp and a RB-970 BX power amp.

    See Here.

It will be an upgrade to my Cambridge audio amp :duck:

I haven't heard great things about RC-970. I was thinking that in future I can get something like a RC-995 or RC-03 and another RB-970.

Do you guys think it was paid a fair price?

About par I'd say price wise.

I heard a pair at a friend Nak's [who seems to have become lost when the old board closed].
The seller was right a warm soft sound almost woolly.

Now there are a few things that you can do, his system was significantly improved with good IC's between pre and power, we used the "zerocost" IC so with anything better you can expect real benifts. The powercable looked like they need to be upgraded. But its not a bad combo and with a little effort can sound very nice.

It says you can monoblock the power amps.
Not a bad idea if you get a second one cheap enough.

Personally, thats as far as I would take them.

As to whether it was a good buy... nothing ventured nothing gained..

If you dont like it you can always whack it back onto Ebay of course.

    Hoe it sounds great :D
