What would be the difference if any.

    Between

    1) CD Player and Amp on a Proper rack. ie 200 squid plus jobbie.

    2) CD Palyer and Amp on seperate concrete or marble slabs. (3 spikes on each one to the floor)

Obviously the appearence would differ but that is not an issue at this stage.

On top of each given surface there would be the usual anti-vibration / isolation cones.

    What do you think folks.

    Differences:

    1. £197, assuming that your concrete blocks cost £1.50 each
    2. Instead of your friends taking the mick about a piece of angle iron in the lounge, they laugh at the concrete instead

Frankly the only way to really prove to you as to whether there is any difference in sonic quality is to built yourself the DIY version, then borrow/get a home dem on a purpose built jobbie.
Personally I thought that there was a substantial difference between the unit I got on home dem and my old stand, and was happy to pay the cost, but hey, that's just me and different people like different things.
Be aware that some of these companies will come to dem a unit in your home.
