on the sniff

I'm currently on the sniff for some new/2nd hand bi-wire speaker cable and I came across this on ebay...

No matter how hard and fast I look on the internet I can't find anything about it. I've found info on Nordost Blue Heaven but not Chord Company Blue Heaven.

Can anyone shed some light?

Probably proof positive that all these supposedly fancey cables all come off a cheap reel from one distributor!

I believe the chord company have a website, they are based in Salisbury http://www.chord.co.uk/chordweb/index2.htm

The confusion may be due to the fact that Chord used to import/distrbute Nordost (apparently no longer do so), so it may be a regular Nordost cable in a Chord box. I suspect Chord also did the terminations. Looking at the picture, there's only two distinct groupings in the cable, whereas the current Blue Heaven (Rev II) has 4. Did this change between Rev I and II?

Personally, I've found every Nordost cable I've heard rather hard at the top and bass-light - but YMMV.

The Seller probably picked 'em up at a car boot or in the pub, and knows very little about hifi

Having said that £300 will get you my 3.5mtr set of biwire Kimber 8TC/4TC which blows that Nordost crap out of the water anyway

yes, chord handled nordost distribution and renamed it as theirs till 95ish i believe
