phono amp with vol control

perhaps a stupid question but at the moment I run from my dac straight to my amp and want to connect up my deck also . I only use vinyl occasionally and am happy to swop cables into the amp when i do . My dac obviously has volume control and therefore wondered if possible with a phono amp . I've had pre amps but found these always impaired quality .

system at moment :
oracle transport
audio synthesis dax decade
audio research 150
proac future speakers
 
thanks guys . the ear chrome appeals to the boss but doesn't come with vol control and the icon is a two boxer . I was hoping to get away from that .

It does indeed - I recently borrowed one from Noteworthy (along with their A30) and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. :)

funnily enough , I was rummaging through some old stuff and came across my old meridien 101 preamp which is smaller than most phono amps. I only remember thant I was happy with it for years but that there were only 2 inputs so I'll give it a go .
 
on another issue , I took out my preamp after the boss and i felt the music wasn't doing anything for us. The difference was astounding so obviously there was a big mismatch somewhere . Anybody had problems like this and is it the preamp ( eslab ) dac or main amp at fault .
