    :) Dear all,

Your thoughts on the following please.

My Pioneer pdr609 went wonky after two good years service, wouldn't recognise discs, recorded everyting on one track 74 mins long etc, etc.

Anyway, took it for repair to Richer Sounds, got the loan machine, waited, and waited.

Service dept tell me the pioneer after two years starts to ignore anything with a Phillips chipset, and so won't record. They have seen several examples of this. It's as if a millenial type bug is built into the machine. Has anyone seen this weird behaviour in hardware before?

I'm left with the option of a replacement (same type machine), or money back. My concern is that the same thing will happen in two years time, and then with no guarantee, leaving me well out of pocket

    Any thoughts gentlemen?

get new machine and a five year warranty. 5 year warrantys at rs are money back if not used anyway...can't lose.

that pioneer is only 12 months warranty zanash, and the law is if it isn't suitable for the purpose its intended within the first 12 months, a repair or replacement must be made.

if u'd got a yamaha or denon or marantz it would be 2 years however....

Correction noted, but the sentiment was right.
