power supply idea

Just had to pop down the local electronics toy shop, noticed they are selling some old stock cheap.
4 x 650VA isolation Tx @ £9.99 ech (pri 115-0-115 sec 115-0-115)
Got me thinking, could i use these for a mains cleaner?
I was thinking maybe a filter ala swampy design and then into the TX with a nice socket hanging off the other end and repeat for all 4 TX
sounds like a plan or not worth it?

Just spotted this ..........

are you meaning mains through the Iso Tx then through the filter, or the other way round?

I've seen it done with filter first .....a la lynwood

you could really only run a couple of amp components of each Tx , but low current draw items like cdp etc
you'd be able to do a whole extension block full.

I think they had 3 on the shelf so at a tenner a throw i thought i might get all 3.
I would use one for amp and the other 2 split between the other components.

Sounds worth a shot .......whats the worst case ?

big pink flash ....[there not blue at higher energy values]
or marvelous sound....somewhere in between.

In my previous life attended a sub station explosion........myself and my buddy crept round the edge of
the wooden fencing and climbed through the hole made by the explosion.
Fortunately the things are self extingushing so there was no fire.
As we got closer to the big TX, with him in front of me I got my camera out and took a photo
well the flash went off and so did my buddy ! He was imaging 15000 volts plus leaping from the
exposed TX inards.........to say he was not best pleased is an under statment ! and then we had to take the fire engine
back to the station for him to change his underwear !!!

I once put a water jet onto a burning building to hit the main bus bars and sub station.....hence
the big pink flash and 4 fire crews making big steps in the opposite direction, me included !
