Got myself a 320K "preview" copy of this album ;)

Not bad, slightly different again to Fat of the Land, with maybe a bit more in the way of a "hip hop" sound, mixed in with a bit of chemical brothers and aphex twin. Probably a grower. The first couple of tunes stick out as being some of the better ones (Spitfire and Girls), and the last tune seems to have vocals by Liam Gallagher in it (shoot down).

This is really worth checking out, IMHO. Oh, and if you wanna buy it, you'll have to wait until next month. However, if you just wanna listen, then it is available on a good P2P network near you :)

Maybe the last song isnt Liam Gallagher vocals as I thought, I only heard the tail end of that last song the last time, but its Keith Flint by the sound of it. Still, there dont seem to be many Prodigy fans here.

Not heard the new album yet, from hearing 'Babys Got A Temper' I feared the worst, and opinions so far have been mixed. Hearing it described as a mix between the chemical brothers, aphex twin and with a more hip hop style, well sounds promising to me since I like the chemical brothers, aphex twin, and hip hop....

personally i love the prodigy, and i have even used narayan as a test track for years. still it's perhaps not the most audiophile of bands...

Does it have a track entitled "Rock 'n' Roll" ?

They always used to play this live and it was IMHO one of their best tracks but they never committed it to record :( .

I'm afraid it doesnt. I'd bet it was on one of their singles though, as a B-side. Also, I think my mate has a B-side album, I'll ask him about it.

Paul - where's the best p2p site? Would love to hear a copy of the new album (but I'd buy it on vinyl when it comes out).

Naryan is a fantastic track - I've used Breathe for dems before, as that's a lot of fun too! 7 years since the last album though - not quite in Kate Bush territory yet then :)

Best P2P is probably DC++, Emule, or Bit-torrent (get a bit-torrent client), maybe try www.suprnova.org

    I got mine from Emule.

The new album is definitely different to 'Fat Of The Land'. It sounds more complex but also harks back to an early breakbeat/electro sound. I guess it's a more interesting album that FOTL but maybe doesn't have the obvious hits that have been present on previous albums.

I think this album must surely hold the record for the album heard by the most people before it's even been released :D

    Me heard
    Me likes

Like others have said, chunks of electro, hip hop, punk, blended together. People will say "it doesn't sound lke the prodigy", but it's easy to forget how good the albums are when they first come out. The Prodigy are pretty much household names and constantly played on radio and mtv etc... But each of the albums has been quite different sounding (but still recognisable).

One thing that I, and a couple of others picked picked up on early with this one, is there's a real Basement Jaxx vibe to it. Obviously a bit MOre industrial and raw sounding, but a smilar "bangin" feel to it. The female vocals add a bit of veriety.

Can't wait for them to tour again :D

Hopefully this will just be a warm up tour and a bigger one will follow.

Anyone going to any of these dates?

just got to 'you'll be under my wheels' even though it's used in the new bmw 1 series ad's it's a cracking tune and was straihgt up to 11 o'clock on the volume dial. i need bigger bass speakers really though!
the way it is is a bit dirty in the bass too.
the remix album looks like something to get but i've not got a torrent client - barse. i'll have to sort one out.
    cheers
