Been listening to http://www.accuradio.com/ a bit the last couple of days.

Not so much a radio station as just a decent music library with several playlists. You can't choose an individual track to listen to, but it shows you the current playlist for your chosen genre(s) and you can deselect some of the tunes you DON'T want to listen to. You can also skip tracks. The playlist changes and is random for each user.

I've MOstly been listening to the station. "Hiptronica"

Which has a good selection of Hip hop, "electronica" and such. Quite a few fav's on there and quite a few i've not heard before but have scribbled down :D Infact it gives links to the current and past few artist on amazon too. There's also sub catagories.

It's only 32Kbs, and gaps between tracks can be a little long (no MOre than a few seconds though).

    Highly recommended :D

Perhaps we could knock up a list of recommended online streaming sites and net radio and such and stickfy it?

    MO :D

Just noticed if you click the link I posted for the "Hiptronica" bit it opens it in media player. It says you need Windows media player (not tried it with anything else), and selecting the link from the http://www.accuradio.com/ site will use WMP but do so in a dedicated window which shows the track list options and links to subchannels and such.

There's also occasional *adverts*, well MOre pre recorded "support us by emailing us feedback" and such jingles.

    Give it a shot :D

And if you use something like StreamRipper you can save those streamed files to your hard disk. I haven't done it for a while but with broadband you can just leave StreamRipper "ripping" a radio station overnight and then by morning you've usually got the whole playlist on your hard drive :)

The main BBC Radio homepage, from where you can access the BBC radio streams.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/

I'm quite partial to a bit of http://www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/ the D'n'B site plays some good stuff (L Double has a show on there). Also, the cutting room is a new talent showcase thingy. Anyone remember the "please vote for my mate to win" request I made a while back ;)
