Not really a HiFi question , although someone may be able to help

I have a Mesa Boogie MkIV with an Electrovoice 12" 200watt speaker , but the cone has got punctured , does anyone have any advice on an effective temporary repair or a competant reconing service , ideally easily accessible from Kent M25.

    :guitar: Thanks Alby

The puncture is not very big, "V" shaped less than an inch , but I dont want it to get worse , so I was looking to try a repair , and if not get it it reconed.

    Regards

if the material is still there and it is a paper cone just bend the end of a pin poke it through the damaged bit put some pva glue on the edges and hold it for a second, if it wont stay hairdryer it till it does. or if it is accesssable hold it the other side and don't use the pin.

I have done this before and it works fine. but ugly. :D
if it is a plastic cone forget it.

Give dave smith a call from DK loudspeakers. Wilmslow Audio Use him. I also use him and have sent customers to him all with fantastic results. Saved me a fortune by reconing some drivers. cost £35 each insted of £400. They look like new you would not tell the difference. Fantastic.

Don't have his contact details right now just do a google search for DK loudspeakers Dave Smith and you will get his details.

Hifi World have done a couple of interviews with him.
