Nope!

Cant tell you when they are coming up, cos I havent a clue and dont know where to look!

Anyone else know :D :D

tend to be an overpriced waste of time from my experiences.
 
I've found CDs are often overpriced, but there's always stacks of used vinyl and loads of £1 bins.

The next ones in Exeter, at St. Georges Hall, are:

Mo, I always find them enlightning to music I havn't heard and I always leave with bargins.
 
Agree with Ian on this one. CD's are on the whole somewhat expensive these days at record fairs, compared to what you can buy them on-line for brand new. Record fairs are best for hunting down deleted titles, but even then you'll have to be careful by doing your homework and making sure you're not getting charged over the odds.

Record fairs are still a fairly safe bet for cheap vinyl though.

You do have to look around though, rather than plunging in and going for the first example of something, and don't forget they'll be limited edition and other odd versions of albums floating around which might appear to the untrained eye as the run of the mill version - hence why it might initially seem expensive.

I used to go quite regularly and try and pick up some rarities, bootlegs, picture discs and such.

Hadn't been for a while then went to a couple a few MOnths back. Ended up leaving empty handed and doing the rounds of the local charity shops instead. Perhaps it's just I don't know what i'm looking for/at :rolleyes:
 
MO, to be honest, I don't think second hand bargains are as easy or plentiful as they use to be.

Have you ever tried bartering at record fairs? IME, most stall holders will be amenable to a bit of haggling if you buy more than one item from them in one go.

On, the otherhand, if you go to a charity shop, you'll know that you're also giving to charity even if the prices might be a bit more. You pays your money and makes your choice, I suppose. :)

See, I have that problem. I go to the fair with no idea what to buy and usually come out with £20 or £30 worth of LPs, maybe the odd CD if there's something I really can't find elsewhere.

Although they can appear expensive, if you don't have the internet, they are often the best chance a lot of people have of being able to source albums by certain artists, particularly those who aren't particularly well known here in the UK. American jam bands, such as Phish, String Cheese Incident, Gov't Mule and moe. for example, don't tend to be stocked in most record stores, and you can get their stuff at fairs.
