Ruark Sceptres

    Hello,

    I have just taken delivery of a pair of Ruark Sceptres speakers to go with;

    mission dad5 dcp + entech DAC
    Naim 72/140/flat cap
    NAC A5 + v.good i/cs!

    I ahve two queries perhapts some one could help me out with;

    1) The Ruarks, if you take the grills off, have a large hole in the front of each speaker.................can some one put me right on what these are for?

    2) The Ruarks are certainly lot better than the old Mordaunt Shorts I was using before but I am STILL missing some top end..........symbols are still not sounding quite right(muddled)............and a liitle more bass wouldn't do any harm either. Would a Naim 3.5 (or other?)be an improvement, given that I don't think the Naims hhave a digital output for my DAC?

    Any other recomendations?
