    Pardon my ignorance.....

I found a great deal on a 6-year old Marantz CDR630 recorder. Question: In order to burn CDs with it, will I solely use the drive in the Marantz recorder to rip AND burn or just for burning? That is, do I have to use a secondary player or whatever to run the original cd and input it into the Marantz OR can I accomplish everything with JUST the Marantz recorder? For recording my vinyl, of course, it's an external component. I'm wondering if the same is true for ripping CDs.

I'm new to all this. Thanks for your time.

    Thanks,

    David
