Just a thought - the tactile feel of the volume control on a preamp can be very satisfying. I like the Tag McLaren ones but Hovland has a notchy, chrome plated affair. Does anyone have any great favourites?

My preamp has two very large and heavy knobs + a bit of jewellery, but no remote control (so you have to twist them yourself)

Middle aged men posting pictures of their knobs on the internet, who'd have thought it?

    Longest knob

I think the Connoisseur preamp has the longest knob, and what's more you can twist it in two directions at once!

My Sonneteer amp has a knob the equal of the Densen knobs. And my Pioneer TX9800 tuner has the Mother Of All Tuning Knobs, beautifully weighted, the merest tug* sets it spinning. And it's actually smart enough to detect when it's being touched. How's that for 70s technology?

Hee hee. Densen Knobs are hard to beat (but they used to be even bigger - remember the DM10 ?)

I like my Densen Knobs, but the knob on my old Sansui felt the nicest - nice solid clicky thing.

This one's easy! Don't know how to upload piccies but the Tact Millennium has to have the most OTT knob known to man. The flywheel effect feels fabulous too.

Nah, that's what you call a knob :D

Still F'ing useless when you've got a remote control, a bottle of Bordeaux, and some Doritos mind.

Yep - I was going to suggest the TacT knob but couldn't find any decent photos of it. I've played with one (ooh-err :p ) in the shop and it has the most beautiful, ever so slightly weighted feel. A joy to twiddle :D

I feel this knob obsession is a little distrubing for this forum, let alone any would-be memebers thing about joining Phallus R' Us Weighted or otherwise
