    Hello,
    My hifi consists of:

    QUAD CDP-2
    QUAD 99 PRE-AMP

QUAD 99 STEREO - powering the mid and treble
QUAD 99 MONO - base left
QUAD 99 MONO - base right

QUAD 22L SPEAKERS with CHORD CHORUS CABLE.

I want to upgrade my speakers because i feel my source components justify it.

I am thinking perhaps buying some second hand wilson audio sophias or JM utopia...
Does anybody else have any suggestions or have experience with the quad sound (and therefore recommend a suitable partner)
    budget 1-3k
    Thanks for your help,
    matt

Proac D15s are my fave £1-2k speaker. Should sound good with any quality source and not position fussy due to the downward firing bass port.

I understand that QUAD have released an updated version of the l series (l2). Does anybody have any views on these upgrades? are they signifficantly better?

I want a speaker that will blow away the original 22ls (if possible:D )

I used to be a big fan of the old ProAc's but I've not heard anything in their lines since 2002 that I like, but I think to be honest that's been due to the environment and the people running the dem!
If anyone is in the Buckinghamshire area you may be interested in an open day Noteworthy Audio are having with ProAc's: http://www.noteworthyaudio.co.uk/index.html
I will be going along as I still want to be convinced ProAc's can still sing,...not that I need new speakers lol
