Static Through Surround Sound

    I have a Nexis surround sound set up with a sony receiver. If I hook the sound into video one or two, I get static through all of the speakers. If I hook the sound into multi channel, its clear but only the rear speakers give sound. PLEASE help! I recently got this stuff used. Everything is in great condition. So, I'm kind of at a loss for what could be going on. Thanks in advance!
