Tannoy 609/DC2000

    They do turn up, seen a few through on eBay recently. DC2000 's or 611 's are probably the ones to have.

    If you go for the later Profile or Profile Plus versions, things like the 638 are very good but a bit warmer and slightly more cloying.

    611 is a fire cracker but the top end is slightly different between the 611 and 611 mk2 (same for all of them in fact). which you prefer will be a matter of taste. Both good enough.

    Errr... I have mint 611 Mk2, on their optional Tannoy "plinths". I removed from my main system last weekend and about to put them into storage. I was planning to give them to my daughter when she goes to uni next year but if any one wants them now.... ?? BTW, they seem to like a big room. Tony

    Having thought about it I think I'll be after standmounts in this range as they'll be going in quite a small room. So Tony's aren't going to do the trick unfortunately:(
