Since moving into a new flat with a much larger lounge than I had before my little AVI Pro-Nines really don't cut it. They are woefully bass, and even mid-bass, shy, and that's with them backed more into the corners than I'd want and messing up the soundstaging. I'm not sure how long I'll be staying so I'm not going to be throwing much money at the problem, hence I'm slightly tempted to check out some TDL studio 1Ms I could get for £300. What does anyone think of these speakers? I'm hoping that their transmission line design should give reasonable bass out into the room, where hopefully I can sort out the positioning to get better soundstaging? With luck the bass might be better at lower volumes too... Any thoughts appreciated,

    Martin

I know one reviewer's reference system where these are in place (He was very offended when I asked if they were RTL 3s), and they're not bad. Not the best transmission line I've heard :D but not bad.

I would think at that price you'd be able to sell them on for no loss if you found that they didn't give you what you wanted? In which case there is no substitute for getting them in your room on your system and listening with your ears.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, cheers Isaac.
