Teac Esoteric UX-1 VRDS universal player

    Very few details available (esp. if you don't read Japanese :) ) but Teac are finally releasing a VRDS based universal player called the UX-1 (under their "Esoteric" brand).

    Their much praised Esoteric DV-50 universal player doesn't have a VRDS mechanism.

    Cost in Japan is 1.25 million Yen so it's not cheap :eek:

    They are also doing a VRDS CD / SACD player for a touch less. Saw both at the Tokyo Hifi show the other week. I think it was an X-50 (which is a pretty old model) that was actually playing...
    The new improved look really is improved. These things look truly gorgeous - as they should for the price.
    So what's with the Japanese audio mags anyway, Michael? Taking it a bit far no....
