After RDS asked yesterday I've offered to tidy up in here, and help organise all the useful information.
If you could leave a message in this thread it will help me when I start tomorrow.
I would like to avoid though having too many stickies as it will push new threads right down to the bottom of the page. I wondered if perhaps we could have a FAQ Classical space underneath. If you don't like that idea please say, it is as they say only a thought!

I think a FAQ classical space is an excellent idea.

These three, on the English and French suites and the Partitas, could mingle with the WTC which would be called Bach's Clavier music.

    Partitas;
    French Suites
    English Suites
    This could be in
    Bach's organ music

So there would be a stcky on Cantatas, another on Harpsichord music and still another on organ music. There are many threads on the Goldbergs that ought to go into Harpsichord music.

    I hope this helps.

    Great idea, the faq.

    Thanks a lot.

I'll suggest something a bit more radical on Bach: Bach: Vocal (Cantatas, Mass, Passions and so on), Clavier (WTC, Goldbergs, Inventions, Partitas, Suites, Art of Fugue), Organ (every organ music). This might be a sticky with three subheads. However, this may require a lot of work - finding out all the threads.

If, as I hope, more kinds of music will receive substantial attention (this forum seems very slow just now) other 'epochal' or 'composer' stickies' would be created.

I'm planning to combine the Bach threads into keyboard, choral and organ. The biggest problem is the sequencing. I may have to lose some posts for the sake of continuity. Nothing will be lost for good. I'll soft delete them so if you think something is missing I can put it back. It may be better and unfortunately I won't know until I've tried to make a new room with all these sticky threads in. I'm going to have a go tomorrow, so let me know how I get on. I'm quite open to criticism :)

Why not just two Bach threads:
    - stuff that Bach wrote himself
    - stuff that his wife wrote

I've done the Baroque Keyboard Music. I'm considering now doing some more.
Please give me your opinions on what has gone on so far. I haven't dug through all the threads, but if there are bits you'd like to lose, just PM me the post and I'll sort it out.
I've also removed some stuff from the Classical beginners thread, it all seemed a bit unnecessary.
    Feedback please chaps.

    Nice work so far, lordsummit.
May I suggest, that the "records recently heard" threads are made sticky too.
    Regards,

I was going to combine them, and then make the single thread a sticky. I'd also like a 'What Classical are you listening to now' thread.
    Any other ideas

Please don't combine the Records recently heard thread.... the problem is that any post on non-baroque gets lost amongst the more frequent baroque discussion, and as a result there is almost no discussion on later music.
