system currently on glass optimum stand but new units too big

    having a cabinet built
out of 30mm mdf in piano black
going to be 1.5m long 60cm width 55cm high
    on spikes?

spoke to dealer stated mdf not good for t/t
dont want to go the expense of full solid wood

    wall mount impractical
    no suspension on t/t

or are there isolation platforms i should consider
spikes for the unit is that a good idea?

    considering butchers block for isolation
or has anyone got any ideas

What is the floor made of?

Is your turntable in between the speakers or away from?

Is it in a room node along a wall from the speakers?

    What is your turntable/arm/cartridge?

What are your speakers, their specifications, and the room size?

    turntable support

    clearaudio master solution
    SME v
    lyra argo i

speakers located centre of back wall not at room node (i think)

sonus faber amati homage 92db efficient i think
floor standers on their own spikes...room 18 foot long by 12.5 foot wide 8 foot ceiling ...speaker drivers 1.2m away from back wall.toed in

No problems with vibrations at the moment on optimum support
although some 80s records bit harsh think due the glass and no curtains.

No real Bass issues (although upper mid bass could be bettered if im honest)

    lots of sofas,cushions ,rugs etc
lots of glass as patio at back and side

floor solid beech over concrete with slight liner

    thx for the imput

I would think maybe along the lines of a stone plinth on a high mass table, hardwood, or maybe something from Townsend Audio

    t/t support

    course you can come round
especially if you look like your avator.

already commissioned cabinet ..wife does not want anything on show besides t/t..and cos my hobby is inctreasingly taking over large parts of our disposable redies ..i'd rather defer

turntable is to go under my pj screen in the centre
no longer using centre speaker as SF give all the imaging i need

if i was to put it on the wall there is no room
    problems are
    screen is one wall
2 patio windows at back and side
long radiator and very large suite
    aesthetically wouldnt look right

    cheers
    nick
