    Hello All,

Just saw an ad for a used Allen and Heath CMC24. Has anyone used this
board? It seems to be a decent board, from what I could find online.
Don't know if it's the CMCMKI or MKII.

    Thanks much!

  2. Since you're posting from Google Groups, it would make
sense to search the archives of Google Groups.

There's a wealth of information about the CMC series there,
    Good Luck.

A&H CMC Board was ahead of its time. A true 16 buss inline console with
programmable routing and muting. A popular mod was to replace the L/R
mix amps. Check the console thoroughly before purchasing. Had alot of
problems with inserts and solder joints. Make sure you get a manual.
CMC MkII is preferred over the MkI. The differences were substantial but
I can't think of them offhand.
    Good Luck!

Yes, but wasn't its time about 1990? I don't recall how long they made
that series and didn't even realize that it went into a Mk II version,
but it's still pretty old, the computer hardware inside is going to be
obsolete, pots and switches are likely to be cranky as you point out,
and it definitely is going to need a manual.
