Anyone know where/if you can get Vampire RCA chassis connectors in Europe? I'm specifically after the CM2F/CB model.

The reason I specifically want those is that I want to add another input to my preamp and the existing RCAs are all of that type so I wanted them to match for purely aesthetic reasons.

Ordering direct from the US will incur duty and VAT etc unfortunately.

Otherwise I guess I'll have to "make do" with some WBT 201s.

They're an eye-watering 35 euros (about £25) each (from LC Audio) .

Markus, the WBT 0210 is the "nextgen" socket isn't it? Can you use them with normal RCA plugs? I'll see if I can get them locally. No doubt they'll be even more expensive than the 201 :(

You can use them with normal plugs. For full effect, you'll need the Nextgen plugs, but you'll switch over to them eventually anyway.

For fun, you could install a set of Nextgen sockets, make up a cable with Nextgen plugs and compare these between your Dac and your pre with a "normal" arrangement. Audible.

    Measurable effects, too, I'm told.

Interesting. I might try that out. All the cables I use have Eichmann Bullet plugs on them already which is where WBT stole their Nextgen idea from anyway so switching to Nextgen plugs may not have such a difference ;)

Well, I went for the WBT nextgen (0210) sockets, mainly because they were the only ones they had in the shop and they were worth a shot, even if they are €20 each!

My pre now has a 3rd RCA input - wahay! Hurdle no.1 in getting a TT has been crossed.

After soldering the wires to those fiddly Seiden switches in my pre I'm VERY glad I bought the pre ready assembled. Soldering 2 inputs was bad enough but soldering the dozens of wires involved in the whole pre would be enough to test the patience of a saint.

I'm using the new input at the moment with my DAC just to test it but it's rather late so I can't play at the levels required to say definitively whether there's any difference but I seriously doubt there will be.
