I thought Chord did a five year warranty - so how come only 2 years?

    I thought it was a 2 year warranty. Maybe it's 5. I'll check.

Michael, it's lovely in black. If you want to swap make me an offer for yours + cash. :MILD:

Couldn't find it on the website, but I've just phoned Chord and they've confirmed it's 5 years.

I was going to keep it, but thanks to Heatherdale Audio I've acquired something secondhand I've been lusting after for a l-o-o-n-g time. Think small, Japanese, non-oversampling, no brick-wall filter, and the coolest transport on the market.

Ian, first an iPod, now 47 Labs gear - you're a style whore to challenge garyi :D . So you reckon your black one is worth more than my silver one eh? :rds2:

No offence Michael, but it's got sod all to do with style. Sonically it's a first round KO to 47 Labs over Chord. Not a technical knockout, either.

I have to be honest, the 47 labs stuff leaves me stone cold, quaint loooking stuff, but as you say a leap above the Chord gear.

Kimura-san apparently sells a lot of his production to musicians ;) Not to everybodys' taste, I agree.

Ooops. We're not doing much for Ian's sale.
I take back everything I may have inadvertantly implied about Chord. It's a cracking brand, and the Mk II is a machine that punches far above it's weight. Transparency, weight, detail, accuracy - all this is but one Click away. Don't hesitate, BUY THIS CHORD NOW!!!
And what is more, Ian is a very nice man (cough, splutter).

Having spent a good deal of time in the 47 Labs room at Heathrow I reckon it sounds great, is probably the only single brand from source to speakers to cables that interests me at all, and I freely admit the style is a big plus. Small is beautiful when it comes to electronics IMO. And it's fun to use, unlike most of this stuff. Stupidly expensive new, but what the hell, the circuit simplicity is a coherent and well-executed design decision even if it it does mean the commercial products are an expensive proposition for what's materially in the boxes. Heatherdale have a Gaincard amp and power supply if anyone's after a cool as feck low powered amp, btw...

Black ones sound better. It's much newer than yours too, virtually unused. Go on, you know you want to...

    It's all true, you know.

Shigaraki range are much cheaper and the DAC and phono stage look really neat in those ceramic cubes.
    I'm a sucker for well-executed pottery.

Very cool indeed. Kimura-san lives and works just up the road from me and apparently enjoys a tipple. Maybe you should come over to pay <cod_french>hommage</cod_french>.

Sometime in mid-to-late February is on. I'll be pestering you for local knowledge very soon. Some low bowing to Kimura-san seems like a good wheeze.
