I fitted a 24 position stepped attenuator fitted with Vishay Dale resistors to my GG pre amp.
Results are mixed. Better channel balance and low level listening, as expected.
But also seems to have effected the bass, mid bass to be exact. Some tracks are now lacking in authority. The overall effect is positive, but that downside is quite obvious when listening. I am assuming this is down to the resistors used??
The attenuator replaced a real cheap and nasty pot.
I have considered trying a DACT attenuator, but not a cheap option after my first experience.
So I am now considering fitting a decent pot, maybe Noble or Panny.
Does anyone have any opinions on these pots?
