A very common design thats known to us DIYers. Cost about a tenner to make depending on choice of termination. Interconnets mark-ups are the highest Ive ever known of a single product.

I wouldnt bother personally, 0.6mm 99.999% silver is perfect for the job, but if you must try www.wires.co.uk for gold-plated silver wire. Elizabeth Duke doesnt sell it although they do have some rather fetching 9ct Sov' rings, they'll sell you 8 (one for each finger) for 40 squid.

Hmmmmm crap from salisbury, like I keep saying.................

Just doing a small side swing from the thread, I am making some LONG (10m) interconnects to goto my rear speakers. Thanks to this thread i know where to get the core from (.9mm silver/teflon coated copper). Does anyone know where i could get the rest (the woven shield and some protective outer coat)

Just out of curiosity is the core i selected the best they do or does anyone reccomend a different on of their cores?

I always use silver, if you want 99.999% silver pm Zanash he sells a quality item at a very good price. For your braiding try www.rswww.com or www.CPC.co.uk, these also sell a wide range of tubing. PM if you need any more help.

But it came from a field, if not a minefield - and as Salisbury is celebrated for military manoeuvres, might that not also be the case?

AFAIK, the Guiness Book of Records says that CINEMA POPCORN has the overall highest average margin of any product sold in the world!

This is largely down to the fact that it is bought by weight at wholesale, but sold by volume at the consumer level.

    Nice business!
