I've only got my CDs catalogued so far (for insurance, got the DVDs/LPs/tapes to go) but I'd not be posting it on the net. I think all ZG users are cosha (sp?) but all the same - it'd be like a "burgle me" advert wouldn't it?

I've got some rare stuff so there's no way I'd post that on here :) Hifi is replaceable but music isn't - a lot of the time.

Same as with Dom, it's all catalogued for insurance purposes but that's as far as it goes. A good 800 or more items though, including CDs, DVDs, LPs... I've not bothered counting up all the tapes copied from the library down the years... many of them are probably knackered anyway. Must dig them out and see what there is.

    Dom,

it's "kosher" and originally means food that's prepared according to the rules of Jewish religion.

yeah, I've about 500 cds - I should catalogue them really, as I do have a lot of stuff that you simply cannot buy now, mainly indie stuff like...
some tw*t tried to break into my old flat in april, they kicked down my back door, the door was over an inch think and was in half! they must have got disturbed as nothing was even touched *phew* I moved out within 2 days with my girlfriend...

BLOODY HELL! You were lucky there - think the same happened when they broke into my student gaff - all that was nicked was my telly, my mate's ghettoblaster (minus the DEDICATED speakers - sellability = NIL!) and the remote for my mate's VHS. Tw*ts...

Good thing nothing was nicked dude ;)

Cheers for "kosher" spelling there btw!

I've stickied the thread - my music collection is in my sig but here's the link anyway:

    http://www.zerogain.com/music/

That's everything except my classical stuff and film soundtracks which I've yet to catalogue.

Is there any free software that will allow me to easily just select the records I own rather than type everything one in? I have more than 200 records and simply don't have time to type every one in.

    99.9% of CDs.

The only ones I have problems with are magazine CDs which usually take a day or two to get added to CDDB and my father's LPs from 50-60s which are out of print and therefore haven't been catalogued

    Hi

I have downloaded Music Collector. Quite pleased with it so far. I have only done some cds, no vinyl yet. It has found most of the ones I have tried with it.

I have put in around 50 cds so far. Just another 6000+ to go.

    Isaac.

Based on your collection you have a couple of glaring omissions:

    Namely:

Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde
Derek and the Dominoes - Layla and other love songs.

These should be added to your collection forthwith.:)

I downloaded the trial version and was disappointed when it fell at the first hurdle - it simply doesn't recognise many of my old Bach cantata CDs (no longer extant). So, that's the end of that; I'll just rely on what fading memory I have.
