when applied to speakers...I think this is generally to ones with plastic in general, and bextrene in particular materials...obviosly they don't sound like ducks!

I was under the impression that quack was Jonathan Ross' drug of choice but I digress..
Honk and Quack are terms typically used by people describing the affect of some horn speakers, a kind of plasticky and unnatural sound.
It was at one stage quite common, and sadly many still seem to think that all horns suffer these symptoms. If you get the chance to hear some good modern horn designs, using up to date well damped horn material, these characteristics are all but gone.
