I've got a copy of Pop by Gas and it's wonderful. Disappointed to see Mille Plateux giving up – there are still a few releases available from www.normanrecords.com, but no Gas. Is Gas M. Mayer who records mostly for Kompakt?

Hi Chezi! Fear of fours is a great album. If you've not got their self titled debut then it's well worth getting. Although the rest of their stuff is great, the debut just seems to have something extra IMO.

No, GAS is actually Wolfgang Voigt, one of the co-founders of Kompakt - other names he has recorded under include Mike Ink, Profan, All, Love Inc, Tal and a host of others. He is brothers with Reinhard Voigt, aka Sturm, Kron and so on, both have featured on Mille Plateaux and Kompakt under various names.

Apparently Mille Plateaux has become another label, MillePlateauxMedia, but unfortunately the fact remains that the old Mille Plateaux back catalogue won't be available again, so if you see it, buy it!!

Have you got any Dettinger on Kompakt? His two albums are amazing and have been a big influence on my own music making - they are 'Intershop' and 'Oasis'.

Of course, Wolfgang Voigt, as soon as I read it I gave myself a slap on the forehead. Not got any Dettinger – only 3 Kompakt comps. The track Irre off Speicher by Superpitcher is my fave, I think he's got an album out, but not seen/heard it.

thanx MO , I have every Lamb album including Debut and Fear of Fours both on vinyl cost me £35 and £45 respectively , but worth it IMO as I'm sure they were Dj issue only.

Another nod at Ki-Oku. Great album.

Any Bonobo and Cinematic Orchestra albums are class A chillout material.

Youch! Seems pretty steep, but like you say, they do seem pretty rare.

I'm not sure what it is, but although I think all their albums are a bit special, they don't seem to have matched Debut. It's just got that something extra.

The only one I've not got is the "Best Kept Secrets" best of. But I've noticed a version with a DVD, so might pick it up too.

And also both recently re-issued on LP :) Needless to say they both now reside in my LP collection.

I assume that was from a market place seller? There seems to be one selling the version with the DVD for £5.39, and quite a few others for a few pennies MOre.

Have you heard any of there albums?

Couldn't tell you as the extra tracks are exclusive to the CD version. However, the bonus CD has tempted me, so I've ordered the 2CD set from Amazon, although I won't be getting it for a couple of weeks.
