My Planar's K9 stylus has had it's chips, and as far as I know, there is no direct replacement, although some can be "made to fit"!
If I were to replace the cartridge, what would people recommend? I suppose I'd be looking to spend about £100 - £150, but how "good" can you go with the Planar 3?
    Thanks in anticipation ...

    Hi

I (and I think quite a few others) use the Dynavector 10x quite succesfully on the P3, I can't remember how much it exactly but £200 ish seems about right. IMHO I would'nt go much beyond that with the P3. A good place to ask would be Rega US forum http://www.regausa.com/board/

I've just ordered a Sumiko Blue Point for my P3. Will let you know how I get on.

I have the goldring 1042 its big and fun, had the BPS, warmer, slight more laid back, still good, a joy to fit.
Ortofons mc15 is a steal at the price, as tim says, not much point above about £200 ish

    Hi,

Another cartridge you can look at is the Denon 103. This can be had for less than £100. There are a few people on this forum & on Pinkfish that use this cartridge to very good effect.

Bugger, Origin rang me and said the Sumiko has gone up to £150. Why can't these people keep their websites up to date:mad:
