I own a 78 rpm - probably 60 years old - that was recorded by my
great-grandfather. I would like to find someone who can convert it to
a CD in the NYC area. I do not own a turntable that can play a 78
rpm. Can any make any recommendations? I appreciate your help.

Is it a pressing or an acetate?

I'd have recommended Gabe Weiner if he were still alive. Most of the folks
I would recommend are not in NYC. If it's only 60 years old it will be
comparatively easy since it will be electrical, but depending on the condition,
acetates can be a bit of an adventure sometimes.

Not if it's an acetate. Even with the special jeweled needles for acetates,
those things tear the hell out of them.

The tracking force is measured in POUNDS.
