Well i dont think this beast needs much description.

This was yamaha's top of the line AV amplifier.. and it still packs a mightly punch. With massive amounts of configuration and equalisation available for not only your speaker type but also room type.

It handles DTS and Dolby Digital perfectly and has various soundfield modes available for both,

Obviously it does Yamahas proprietory 7 speaker enhanced surround. This extends the front soundstage forward and upwards and gives an even more cinematic feel.

This thing is big.. its heavy and its powerfull (some 110w per channel)

This version is the special edition with the polished wood side cheeks and champagne gold finish.

In its day some £1800 and in my opinion on a pure sound value... it still copes well. If you want to sit back and enjoy a movie in real style.. it takes a lot to beat it. Also does not a bad job of music thanks to high quality amplifiers.

    £250 plus postage

you wont see a cheaper A1 in this condition and finish.

also willing to swap for Cyrus Power/SmartPower/LinkPower/PSX-R (any of those in black considered)

unfortunately a pre is of no use to me as im using a III/PSX-R at the moment. The yamaha is perfect in every way. No problems of any kind.

    Im based in Edinburgh.
