After trying Pete's` interconnects, he sent me his silver solid core loudspeaker cable to try out. I`m not going to mince the words, but all i can say is stunning!:D
It definitely suits the valve amp and Paduas to the ground, as both use silver cables throughout, so Pete's cables complete the chain.
Not at all harsh or lightweight (as some say about silver cables) just smooooooth and very detailed. At first i thought the bass was a lot lighter, but in fact, the cable has removed bloom in the midbass and made everything so much tighter and tuneful. Mids are stunning, and the top end is so airy it needs to be heard to be believed compared to my Audioquest Crystal (which is great anyway).
Very musical, and worth every penny...you will need to spend a shed load more to get close to these.
Build quality is very good, and although the missus didn`t like the haberdashery sewing box look on the silk outer, i could easily live with it :MILD:
I am going to keep these for a few days more to "evaluate" them, and then send them back, but will definitely save up for pair, and i am even contemplating getting Pete to supply me with just the silver and get the missus to make a nice jacket for them that she can live with :D

Cor, Pete doesn`t half know this cable malarkey.

    - you might like to ask Pete about other colour/design options for the silk...

He did mine up in Blue Haberdashery lol. I Was blown away by the improvement all round over my biwire cable. Give these cables a while to settle down and they will really reveal their true colours. Amazing presentation and a worthwhile investment.

Try Pete's interconnect as well......nothing short of stunning.

Sorry I'm in work and drooling now.

Yup, already tried his interconnects (they are in as we speak), but they don`t have much an improvement on my black rhodium (also silver) to warrant the outlay. However, his `speaker cables do, and is a night and day improvement. :)

You shown the tatty end of the cable !

Coda II ...supplied the silk [many thanks ....] though not terribly robust the silk dose sound very sweet compared to any plastic I've used.

I'm thinking of a hi temp wax impregnated cotton but I'm snowed under with cable requests at present.

Oh.... and I agree I get the same sound smooth fast dynamic ...a totally different sound to copper ...

oddly they made no impact on a quad 66 34/306 lowther horns in fact the 48 strand the owner was using sounded just as good ....though the combo really liked the AgAu ic's transformed a rather flat bland presentation into a very beguiling 3d presentation ....so you just cant tell the moral is you need to actually try a cable in your own system rather than rely too heavily on others opinions ...that goes for any bit of wire !

Could it be the crossovers are the cable sensitive part of the equation rather than the drivers themselves.
    Could be worth thinking about

Home grown cables can be superior to commercial ones, so long as they're properly cultivated :MILD:

LOL! Seriously though, I am another potential customer to replace my speaker cable and interconnects. Will have to see what M. Z can tempt me with after he's over his cold.
