2,0 Vs 2,1 Stereo

What happens if one plays music file without a sub-woofer in a 2,1 stereo Class-D Amp ?

What I really seek is- given choices, is it better to buy a 2,1 stereo over 2,0 system when one is constrained sans a sub-woofer ?

Depends on the bass settings. Normally, the amp will turn off the bass on the mains below around 85Hz, and pass this to the sub, so if no sub, no deep bass. However, in the amp settings, you should be able to set it to 2.0, so the bass goes to the main loudspeakers as there's no sub.
