Original CD release or remastered versions.

Anyone ever heard any difference soundwise?

In the spirit of al forums I'll take a guess :) If you are talking classic Rush, then there is of course no such thing as an original CD release. Should imagine Rush were amongst those artists who got their back catalogue released early in the reign of CD though, so I'm guessing they probably sound a bit crud, so I'd suggest remasters (unless anyone else here knows otherwise for definite).

All Rush is classic Rush, Uncle Ants!

Original CD release for any albums released after CD was invented(Rush adopted fully digital recording really early on, I think), prior to this, I'd go with the remastered versions unless you have a TT, in which case stick to the vinyl versions.

I don't know about 'accross the board' but I heard that the remaster of Moving Pictures was a big improvement. The original CD sounded dreadful. Obviously, my 25 yr old vinyl copy still sounds utterly fantastic and gets wheeled out every time I upgrade anything. I'm starting to wonder if it's a bottomless pit of detail !

I think the CD's of everything up to Counterparts are poor, but to be honest I think the production on most of their catalogue is poor, which given their talent is a great shame.

I'd go for the remasters, they can't be worse than the originals.
