Well I bought these a bit blind (well apart from What Hifi which is not very reliable).
Wanted a pair of speakers I could use close to my computer monitor - so had to be magnetically shieded.
Looked around at Diamond 9.1s etc, at around the 180 ish mark.
Then found these Acoustic Energies - that are currently being flogged off on Superfi's website for a very nice price indeed - 199 inc free postage - vs 450 originally.
They are very well made - far better than anything you'd get for less than 300 pounds, I went for Cherry.
Sound quality is very good too - especially for the money - much better than the S8Cs I had before - which sounded a bit "one-note" bass.
Anyway a recommendation from me.
