I have a set of JM lab focal componets in my car and they are way to bright when paired with my alpine headunit. The newer models have adjustable tweeter level.

Is there any way that i can adjust/reduce the levl of the tweeters??

would one use resistors or something?

Use an L-pad (appropriate to the power rating of your head unit) for adjustable level.

Or a simple L network with 7W wirewound resistors. A 6db attenuation should be suitable – but you may need to experiment. Try the link below for calculating resistor values in an attenuation circuit.

Your high street Maplins should be able to sort you out with the 7W resistors.
