:confused:HI ALL.
The wife is treating me to a new integrated amp bless her,i v`e decided
it`s between one of the following amps.Cambridge Audio Azure 650 A, yamaha
AS500,and Harman Kardon HK 980.if any forum member`s could help me choose
a decent amp i would be most grateful.Thank`s in anticipation.

Cheer`s Ron

They all look superb to be honest. I'd go with the Azur 640A because all the other Azur stuff I've seen is brilliant. Look what you get for the money:

Seconded.

Also worth checking with Richer Sounds for any B stock 840As.
Probably all the amp you and just anyone should ever need.

Have you thought about going second hand? You'll probably get more for your money.
How about a Linn Majik Integrated? You can pick a good one of these up for around £250 on ebay. From my experience it will easily outclass a Cambridge 640A or similar.
Just my two pence worth.

Amplifier recomendations please

HI ALL,
thank`s for the advice chap`s .I had a demo of the 640 azure but to my ear`s
the music sounded detached from my system,(strange). As to either a a B stock or a
secondhand unit it`s new or nothing her indoors informed me.Idemoed a yamaha A-S500 IN Richer sound`s ,was very impressed very musical, good dynamics, tight bass midband etc.treble a touch bright but my Tannoy sixes tamed it.

RE:Recomend me an amp please

HI All
Thank`s everyone for taking the time to answer my post,i decided to go with the
yamaha AS 500AMP,i auditioned the cambridge audio Azure-640A nice amp ,well built,
but the music seemed detached from the amp somehow.Or is it my ears?iv`e never had anything todo with yamaha untill now but that is about to change. The amp is so musical, plenty of power,a tight bottom end(lovelly),nice midband, sweet treble, or am i preaching to the converted?thank`s Ron.:D

Good choice. I've never heard a bad piece of Yamaha kit, plus
the build quality is always great.

And their back/service is legendary.

The silver version is a great looking amp so retro but with modern up todate electronics.

Great choice. Yamaha has a great reputation for good build quality. I still have an AV amp from the early 90's temporary feeding my Tannoys:o
