    I wish I was Joe :)

It is my long term ambition. Folded horn for sub-bass, 15's in a straight horn, compression driver in a horn for mid, and another for treble.

currently slumming it with horn loaded mid/treble and 15's in a ported cab due to living room size constraints.

Gimme a couple of years... I'll get there....

For simplicity/WAF I'd be inclined to go up to 120L sealed (or ported later if you wish) though scaled GRF's would be nice.

This is exactly what I had in mind, but I wanted a tapered shape like my D700s. I think I'll go along with your suggestion. If you were a real friend you'd let me borrow the boxes in your avatar, they look about 120L:D.

    Thanks for the link Cooky. I think I'd go for a rectangular sealed box :)() of around 100cm x 40cm x 45cm.

    Dev,

    Here's the plan —

    1. Get Speedy Steve to build you a pair of Autograph cabinets.
    2. Bring them home.
    3. Play some music, no doubt impressing Mrs. D.
    4. Take loads of flak for buying ginormous speakers.
    5. Say you'll reluctantly compromise by getting Steve to build you GRF-rectangular cabs, which are remarkable compact in comparison.

It's all relative. You just need to show her what truly enormous speakers look like in the living room.

    LOL. I guess it's worth a try.

Seriously though, a friend of mine just happened to have 2 or 3 large sheets of 18mm MDF which I can have. So I'm thinking of building a basic box as Cooky suggested and porting (or aperiodic port as Rob suggested). If the results are positive I'll build (or ask Steve to build me) a proper one with a thicker plywood.
