And we're here...

Yep - the redirect from zerogain.com seems to be working fine aswell :) . I'm off to demote myself from Administrator to mere Moderator :D

Looks like the "standard" smilies have become the default vBulletin3 ones instead of the old vBulletin2 ones....anyone mind the new ones?

Michael.

Cool. Be prepared for an influx of username/password requests from people who used the "remember me" feature. I had to think about my password for a bit.

Oh and many thanks to Michael for providing me with one of my favourite lurking places on the net for the last year and a half (I missed the original thread about the move) and to Isaac for keeping it going. Nice one guys.

Hmmm... not sure it can be considered Zerogain without the huge smily collection...
The big smilie collection is still there, it's just the 10 or so "standard" ones (the first few in the list) that got substituted with the vB3 ones.

Re. password requests that should all be handled by the forum software automatically.

Right, normal service has been resumed wrt smileys... please point out any other issues if you find them!

Two issues:

My bookmark was pointing to:

http://www.zerogain.com/forum/index.php

Which just gives a 404. If I navigate instead to www.zerogain.com, I get to the forum, but I can't log in unless I visit www.enscape.net/zerogain. The log-in works, but immediately forgets who I am, I suspect a cookie problem (probably something to do with not being able to read a zerogain.com cookie from the enscape.net domain).

Otherwise, so far so good.

Strange - I added a .htaccess file in the /forum directory at zerogain.com which reads:

ErrorDocument 404 /forum/index.html

...that should mean you get the placeholder/redirect page instead of a 404 error. It works for me (with Firefox) if I try to navigate to any URL below /forum.

The other one sounds like a cookie issue allthough strangely I haven't had a problem (also Firefox) since the new cookie should be associated with enscape.net rather than zerogain.com.

Ah I see. I changed the DNS for zerogain.com to point to the enscape server and this has obviously taken effect for you very quickly. It hasn't taken effect for me yet. I believe Mark Telkman (one of the enScape guys) is looking into adding a similar .htaccess redirect on the enscape servers.

*waves*

I'll introduce myself when I get a chance - shortly after we got started on moving zerogain, a client needed their CMS and site moving and reconfiguring, so I've been a bit on the busy side :)

Sideshowbob, you seem to have answered all your own questions/problems - with your DNS updating so quickly, it seems you found all the problems more quickly than we could fix them - the main one being getting cookies to work with www.zerogain.com and www.enscape.net/zerogain/ at the same time, which should hopefully done.

Hopefully everything you mentioned should have been fixed...

If anyone has any issues, feel free to get in contact with me via [email protected] or on the forums.

W'happen?? I blinked...then everything was ......just like normal....
Well done guys & many thanks for all. :D

Perhaps the most seamless and bloodless transition in recent memory...almost as if it never happened! :D

Great job, guys!
