Anyone heard or own one of these?

Why not buy something from a brand not based in a garage in China, from a dealer that has been in existence longer than their promised product warranty.

Sounds like your in a similar position to me re looking to go for a valve amp. your 3rd one looks similar to this one for sale in the UK at £300 except it's not as bling and 50wpc.

I'm afraid I have no experience of any of them either - but they do all look amazing value for money.

I've just looked at that one alphatoner posted a pic of and it just has to be by the same people as that ebay one Speedu linked too.

I'm in my 6th year of Valve amplification - a project build - see my avitar.
So I know that components (most are made in China anyway - apart from the tubes and transformers, Swedish in this amp) put together in the right order can sound amazing. Yes the Chinese can solder...
I want a 2nd unit...

wow alphatoner you get bio-spheres with it too!

It's a fair point to make sq, and the other rule of ebay - if it looks to good to be true it probably is - also may apply. But... I have noticed some UK companies are now manufacturing in China and my new pre, ASNtrew AT1000, is designed by a UK design and engineering team but they manufacture in China. They're a small outfit and I run the risk of them not being there just because they're a relatively young business, but I get a lot for my money and cannot find any hint of poor construction or build - on the contrary. If I was in the market for a CD player I'd definitely look a the ASTINtrew machine. China doesn't have to be a problem if the work is manufactured to high standards.

And Audiolab are probably a more well known company who manufacture in China.

Here's a brand with a big garage in China, and it's by the sea :)

P88i amp

Looks a bit cheap but do not be deceived. Remove the bottom plate and see how neatly it has been assembled, remember it's hand-made!
I own one. I have been chopping and 'upgrading' on an ongoing basis until I got this amp. It's a keeper. I WILL NOT CHANGE AGAIN.
My speakers are made by a local genius ( South Africa ) SONOR AUDIO VEGA's @ 26Kg each and compare with audio of speakers double the price. Don't know whether they are available outside South Africa.
Check out SONORAUDIO.COM
The Vega's are 6 ohm & when connected to the 4 ohm of the P88i
sound brilliant.
When I win the lotto I will upgrade to the SONOR CAPELLA speaker, but that's a seperate issue.
The P88i amp will not disappoint - I love classical jazz, bass definition is a priority. I am not sorry I bought the amp.
Hope this helps.

PS. Consider the vagina; might look a bit dodgy, but it works beautifully!
THE DEFENCE RESTS.
