I have an Alpha 6 CD and I have recently replaced the toothed wheel that opens the cd tray. It opens perfectly, but when it closes the motor seems to run on for a couple of seconds even after the tray is closed. I replaced the same part about 10 years ago, but did not have this problem. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening please. Thanks

    Hi,

I'm sure someone on here will be able to help.

The only thing I can suggest is that there is usually a little switch which gets opened/closed as the tray goes backwards and forwards. Maybe try cleaning the contacts?

I have the service manual for the A5 if that's any help? Maybe the main PCB is the same?
